The Lego Movie premieres on February 7, although some lucky viewers in Orlando got to see it early at a screening on February 1. Click the slideshow accompanying this article for scenes from the screening, including an appearance by the movie's stars, Emmet and Wyldstyle.
If you'd like to meet the duo for yourself, head out to Legoland Florida on February 8 or 9 for a special weekend of movie-related events. In addition to meeting the movie star duo, you can search for them, along with villain Lord Business and hulking pirate Metalbeard, on a scavenger hunt through Miniland. If you're successful, you can enter to win a prize pack.
If you're a gamer, you can try your hand at the new Lego Movie video game. Builders can build their own world at a competition in the Imagination Zone or contribute to a movie-theme mural.
I recommend seeing the movie before you come to the park, if possible, although you'll still appreciate the activities even if you don't see it first. It's suitable for both kids and adults and packed with humor from start to finish, as well as some touching moments. I can't go into detail since it's not officially released yet, but jump to this article for some general information on what to expect, along with a video of the introduction by Legoland Florida General Manager Adrian Jones.
