The weekend is here. You’ve worked all week long, and though you could really go for a vacation, you may not exactly have the time, money, or energy to make that happen. That’s okay though. This is where living in Savannah works to your advantage.
At any given moment, you can step out of your residential shoes and into those of the tourists. The best part? The entire family, including the dog, can tag along, considering that Downtown Savannah is super-family friendly. The trip calls for little to no money at all. Take this scenario for instance:
- Enjoy a nice breakfast or brunch for less at J. Christopher’s. Or, should you be in the mood for a better view and more upscale décor, then Rocks on the River is right around the corner.
- Mosey over to Forsyth Park—Savannah’s most beautiful park, by far. Here, you can enjoy a picnic, a nap, a walk, or whatever else tickles your toes. If it happens to be a Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., then be sure to grab some fresh produce and a hot meal from the Farmer’s Market.
- Catch a Pedicab over to City Market to enjoy live entertainment and delicious food options ranging from fine dining, wings, burgers, burritos, pizza, tapas, and gelato. Note: When using the Pedicab for taxi services, you set your own price!
- Wind down at one of Savannah’s gorgeous squares. If you’re lucky, then you might bump into a musician in action or a street vendor with their talents in tow.
