Enjoy pumpkins as far as the eye can see at the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival

One of the most anticipated events in the Los Angeles area every fall is the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival. Located in Juan Bautista de Anza Park in Calabasas, the festival, running October 19th and 20th, brings together people from all walks of life to enjoy music, food, local vendors, and, of course, pumpkins!

Is this is a great place for family fun? Definitely! In fact, they have added a new event this year: the tiny tots costume parade for kids six years old and under. Children can enter by arriving in costume before 10:45am on Saturday, October 19th. There are a whole host of prizes for those who enter, and it’s a fun way to kick off the day.

Is this something you can enjoy even as a singleton? Yes! Pumpkin pie, shopping, delicious food, carnival games, live music on the main stage, a car show and a beer garden (which even includes some pumpkin beer) all combine to make a great fall day out for you and your friends. Plus, it’s the perfect place to pick up that pumpkin you have been contemplating getting to celebrate the season.

Most of the vendors take credit cards, but there are ATMs on site just in case you see some handcrafted jewelry or blankets that you just must have. Parking is free (there’s a shuttle if you don’t want to walk from the outer lots), and admission for adults is only $5.

It’s a terrific way to get into the spirit of the season (which otherwise can be tricky to do in Los Angeles when it’s 80 degrees). Plus, did I mention the pumpkin pie?
