Come and enjoy a breathtaking and educational art exhibition celebrating the beauty and power of contemporary African art in Atlanta’s African community. On Sunday, January 29th from 1pm to 5pm at the Hammond House Museum for fine African American Art, you can see this wonderful exhibition as well as many other fine pieces from Hammond's permanent collection.

The Hammonds House Museum is a museum for African American fine art, located in the heart of Atlanta. It was established in 1988 as an institution of artistic and cultural importance. Its impact on the Atlanta community is priceless with more than 10,000 people visiting the museum yearly. Each guest enjoys a unique experience to gain a wider understanding of the contributions that diverse artists of African descent make to world culture.

Situated in an 1872 Victorian house, it's the former residence of Dr. Otis Thrash Hammonds, a prominent Atlanta physician and supporter of the arts. The museum also holds lectures/symposia, workshops, demonstrations, panel discussions, youth programming and special events to educate, expose and increase one's appreciation for the visual and related arts.

Whether you have deep cultural interest in African art or just want to add modern African American art to your home collection or you are just looking to broaden your art view, this experience will enable you to learn more about the richness of African background and its history. While many of you may have general ideas of how modern African American art was inspired, this exhibition will increase your knowledge and may encourage you to include this art into your homes as well as your hearts.
