Enjoy bitters as a non-alcohol drinker

We all use bitters for cocktails. Some of us, however, do use this wonderful compound to make nonalcoholic beverages. One recipe can be found on the label of Angostura Bitters. It is a common mixture of tonic water and Angostura bitters: A quite traditional drink. Bitters is used to modify the taste of quinine in the tonic water.

However, with a little imagination and creativity, we can certainly expand the use of bitters in nonalcoholic drinks. Here are two tested ideas:

Add salt (to your taste) and two dashes of Angostura Bitters into a glass of lemonade. The salt and bitters create a new interesting flavor which is quite different from that of the original lemonade. Ice cubes are optional.

Add salt (to your taste) and one dash of Peychaud’s Bitters into a glass of water. For those who don’t like plain water, fruity infused water, vitamin-enhanced water, carbonated water, nor soda drinks, this flavored water offers an alternative. Ice cubes are optional.
