Apples and butterscotch are delicious together. This apple filling and cinnamon-oat topping makes for a wonderful dessert. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.
Try Braeburn or Granny Smith apples for this dessert.
- 4 c. (4 medium) apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
- 1/2 c. brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 2 T. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. water
- 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. oats (quick-cooking)
- 1/2 c. pecans or walnuts (chopped)
- 1/4 c. white sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 – 3.5/8 oz. pkg. butterscotch pudding mix (cooked kind)
- 1/2 c. butter (melted)
Heat oven to 350 degrees. In large mixing bowl combine filling ingredients; mix well. Pour into ungreased 7” x 11” baking pan.
In bowl, combine all topping ingredients; mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples in pan. Bake 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Makes 8 servings.
