In Marionette artist, David Simpich's presentation of Portrait: A Puppeteer's True Story - David along with string puppets of King David, Abraham Lincoln, the Elephant Man, Helen Keller, Pinocchio, and others explore events that have personally shaped and impacted his life.
The puppeteer's journey is launched in a childhood garden with a marionette representation of David’s great grandmother and culminates with cave explorer Jim White in the historic expedition of Carlsbad Caverns.

The Simpich Showcase Theatre is one of the United States' only performance based theaters dedicated to presenting year-round string-puppet productions for adult and family audiences. Puppeteer, David Simpich's, award winning productions feature a variety of stories and subject matter presented in original plays.
Performance Dates and Times from September 24th to November 7th:
- 7:00 pm Friday
- 2:30 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Saturdays
- $12 to $14 - plus Applicable Vending Fees
The Simpich Showcase Theater has a handicapped access entrance and a seating area reserved for wheelchairs and patrons with special sight and hearing needs. Arrangements for these must be made in advance of the performance by calling our box office at (719) 465-2492.
The Theater Concession's offers a large variety of reasonably priced snacks and beverages. Concession's open one half hour before show time.
All Performances are recommended for adults and school age children.
