It’s the time of year again with fall festivities in full swing, offering both locals and visitors alike with a variety of things to do. The Annual Destin Seafood Festival is celebrating its 33rd season with great food and entertainment. The festival is expected to draw more than 35,000 visitors to the annual event. This year’s theme is "Heritage on the Harbor."
This year’s festival will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2011 stretching from Harborwalk Village to the Boathouse Oyster Bar along Destin harbor. Admission is free for the three day event. Over a dozen of food vendors are expected to cook up some of the best tasting seafood along the Gulf Coast. A variety of food will be served including fresh shrimp, lobster, and local caught fish with entrees featuring Caribbean and Cajun flavors.
There will be plenty of children's activities to keep the young ones busy, including Sandy the Swordfish. Local artists will be displaying their creations, unique arts and crafts, from hand crafted jewelry to paintings and photographs. In addition to the great tasting seafood, live music will be performed on two main stages. Music featured will include bluegrass, country and rock performed by artists such as The Heritage Band, The Forrest Williams Band, The Andy Velo Band, Cheryl Jones and many others. 15 songwriters from Nashville will also be on hand.
