There is not a better time than right now to plan a fall getaway to the George Vanderbilt estate also known as the Biltmore House. Enjoy a relaxing atmosphere while viewing the priceless art collection, or take a tour through the Biltmore House. The Biltmore House is the largest privately owned home in America, with a collection of original art and antiques that is priceless. The estate comprises some 8,000 acres with 250 rooms, 75 acres of beautiful-landscaped gardens, and one the most visited wineries.
There is nothing like a relaxing stroll through the estate's gardens and forest. There are also a number of pathways that visitors can walk through to view the reflective ponds surrounded by lush and colorful greenery. Just a short distance from the gardens takes the visitor to the four acre walled garden and the adjoining Conservatory.
One of the most popular places on the estate is the Biltmore Winery. Be sure to sample some of the excellent wines in the tasting room, and take some back home with you. The Bistro Restaurant offers up some outstanding dinners with its distinguished European flavor.
A new addition to the 8,000 acre Biltmore Estate is Antler Hill Village. Spend a relaxed atmosphere in its fine restaurants and shops. The Village Green offers live entertainment while a variety of outdoor activities can be enjoyed at the Outdoor Center.
