Enjoy a bit of Britain with food, fun and entertainment at the June Faire

All things British are celebrated at the June Faire at the British Home in Sierra Madre, Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission to the family-friendly festival is free.

Celebrating “All Things British,” the annual event opens with a formal presentation of the colors accompanied by a professional bagpiper and the playing of the American and British national anthems.

Booths will offer arts and crafts, books, tools, collectibles, and boutique accessories, decorative items and household goods. Proceeds are donated to the British Home. A children’s area on the south lawn will feature a bounce house and face-painting by the Home’s resident artist.

Food for sale includes Ploughman’s lunches, English bangers on a bun, home-baked breads and pastries, strawberries and ice cream, and children’s fare. An outdoor Victorian Tea Room will be open for fairgoers to enjoy a “cuppa” and delicious English sweets and savories.

The British Home, located at 647 Manzanita Ave. in Sierra Madre, is 2 ½ acre residential facility for seniors in independent and assisted living. Street parking is available.
