Enhancing your photography at Imaging USA 2014?

This year marks another year of Imaging USA the oldest and longest running photographers convention in the US. Imaging USA dates back to the 1800’s and started as a Professional Photographers of America (PPA) event. Over the years the event has grown in size and popularity featuring some of the best photography professionals in the country.

The conference for Imaging USA officially starts on January 12th thru the 14th this year and will be held in Phoenix, AZ at the Phoenix Convention Center. The highlights are the education, trade show, many parties, and events. Some of the speakers include Kwaku Alston, Joe Buissink, Joel Grimes, and Gregory Heisler to name a few.

According to the Imaging USA website some of the key reasons to attend are to:

• Learn to build a more profitable business while feeding your creativity.
• Grow your technical, artistic & business know-how.
• View cutting-edge product & solution deals.
• Build a support network of people who love the industry as much as you do.

Another highlight this year is Imaging USA will feature legendary singer songwriter Kenny Rogers. In a recent press release Imaging USA wrote:

“This year, Imaging USA will feature a man more known for music than his photography, the legendary singer songwriter Kenny Rogers. Rogers, who was just inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame with a stirring tribute at the Country Music Awards, will be on-hand at Imaging USA to be recognized by PPA for his imagery with an honorary master of photography degree. He will also present his new photography book, give an hour-long Q&A to discuss his life and photography and an exhibit of his work will be display throughout the convention.”

“We could see in his work that Mr. Rogers is an accomplished photographer, but when we approached him about the honorary master's degree, we were immediately impressed with his enthusiasm for photography," said PPA president, Ralph Romaguera Sr., M.Photog.Cr., CPP, API, F-ASP. "He's obviously well-known as an entertainer, but he truly is a remarkably talented photographer. PPA is excited to honor Kenny and have him share his passion with us all in Phoenix."

During Tuesday's Award and Degree ceremony, Rogers will receive his honorary master's along with the 161 other photographers who earned PPA degrees in 2013.”

Based on the current lineup up speakers, events, and parties this years Imaging USA should be worth its weight in gold.
