Englishman Amir Khan will always be a human chandelier

Fragile Brit Amir Khan universally outscored tough Puerto Rican Luis Collazo on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Moving up to welterweight, Khan (29-3, 19 KOs) floored the 33-year-old Collazo (35-6, 18 KOs) in the third and twice in the 10th to win by counts of 119-104, 119-104 and 117-106.

Still, despite the landslide outcome, “King Khan” again proved to be a human chandelier and was nearly knocked onto Queer Street by Collazo in the eighth round.

To his credit, Khan persevered and showed much faster hands, good movement and power.

"I think it was great to have that layoff,” said Khan, 27, who had last exited the squared circle in April 2013 after earning a unanimous decision over Mexican Julio Diaz. “I needed a break from boxing but at the same time I needed to work on some things."

Khan, who became one of the youngest British titleholders ever at the age of 22, is way more talented than Collazo and he should have battered the sneaky southpaw in Sin City.

Unfortunately for the Englishman, Amir Khan will never be able “to work on” his notorious glass jaw.
