If you are feeling anxious it will help you to feel more serene. If you are feeling distressed, you will feel more comforted. While these changes are subjective, they are also accompanied by measurable physical changes indicative of deep relaxation such as a slower heart rate and easier breathing.
Most people will notice a difference after only one reiki session (generally 60 minutes), although benefits do increase with repeated sessions. Even just 5 - 10 minutes of reiki is helpful.
Perhaps one of the best aspects of reiki is that it is completely safe. There is nothing about reiki that can harm you, nor will it interfere with any form of medical treatment.
