Energy healing: the new frontier

Energy healing is becoming a buzz word for many different modalities and is gaining more popularity with mainstream media. Reiki, once considered “out there” by the general public, is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after healing practices around. Yoga studios are popping up at an ever-increasing rate as more and more people make the connection between mind, body and spirit and how true healing relies on a balance of these. Modern medicine, even with all the technological advances and incredible procedures we’ve developed, has failed us in many ways. Doctors are taught only how to diagnose and treat disease. They learn how to manage and control illness but not how to assist their patients in actually healing.

Therein lies the problem.

When the best we can hope for is to manage our sickness it’s only natural to look for other avenues to regain our health and vitality. This is where the interest in so-called “alternative” methods has piqued.

Of course, as with anything, finding a practitioner that is truly qualified is of utmost importance. Unfortunately, there are many frauds and unethical people who take advantage of the desperation of many of those seeking help. Many people are connected with healing professionals through word of mouth, which can be advantageous since you can hear first-hand from someone you trust about the abilities of the healer in question. Other ways to determine whether a healer is right for you is to research the individual. Nowadays anything you want to know about anyone is on Google. If the person has a website be sure to check it out to get a feel for what they do and how they work. And when it comes right down to it, listen to your gut. We all have that little inner voice, pay attention.

Some of the best energy healers work with several different modalities and/or were born with innate abilities. In other words, they are born healers. In the southern California area there’s Lisa J. Smith, for example. Lisa is an incredibly accurate psychic and medium, as well as a Reiki Master. She does the majority of her work one-on-one over the phone.

In the Las Vegas area there is Bonnie Serratore. Bonnie has close to 30 years of experience in her highly specialized form of energy healing and clearing. Arguably the very best at what she does, Bonnie works with people one-on-one as well as groups, both over the phone and in person.

If you have exhausted the usual route of traditional medicine it certainly can’t hurt to give energy healing a try. One thing ALL true energy healers have in common is that they operate on this principle: First, do no harm.
