End of the front 9 at Burnham Woods Golf Course

The ninth hole at Burnham Woods Golf Course (Burnham Woods Golf Course is at 14201 S. Burnham Avenue in Burnham, Ill.) has these yardages: 407 yards-blue tee markers, 397 yards-white tee markers and 389 yards-red tee markers. This hole is par four. Seven is this hole’s, course handicap.

The beginning of the end of the front nine is farther than the usual separation between putting greens and teeing grounds. In fact, the ninth hole’s, teeing grounds’ distances from the eighth hole’s, putting green is the second farthest on this course. (The distance between the ninth hole’s, putting green and the 10th hole’s, teeing grounds is the farthest.)

The ninth hole’s fairway points northwest. This fairway lacks any doglegs. Combined with having a moderately wide width, widely spaced trees on the left side, and lacking sand bunkers and water hazards, makes this fairway relatively easy for most golfers.

Nonetheless, Burnham Woods Golf Course has scattered ditches throughout. These ditches may or may not have water, but they will certainly contain vegetation and mud. I do not remember if the ninth hole has one of these ditches. (The scorecard does not display the ditches.)

The putting green is above the fairway’s level. Moderate amounts of breaks are present. Golfers who land their balls on the green within two feet should be able to get their balls in the hole in two strokes.

After sinking their putts, golfers can go to the nearby clubhouse for refreshments. (The ninth hole’s, putting green and 18th hole’s, putting green are close to each other.) If towels have dried, buckets of water should be available to rewet them.
