The Fremont Street Experience celebrates the Labor Day long weekend with an "end of summer -- what a bummer" bash downtown tonight and tomorrow.
Thousands of people are expected to party along the five-block stretch downtown.
The Fremont Casino has 99-cent shrimp cocktails and $2 margaritas.
There's cheap beer and good pub food at Hennessey's (look for the giant beer glass on the roof).
Mermaid's is giving away free Mardi Gras beads and adding all kinds of flavors to 99-cent, frozen daiquiris.
Famous deep-fried Oreos are only 99 cents at Mermaid's too.
Vendors are selling everything from tie-dye T-shirts to '60s style "wrap" dresses, in the spirit of this final Summer of '69 celebration.
All entertainment is free, from athletic bartenders juggling bottles in the air, to local bands playing on several stages along Fremont St.
The neon canopy bursts into color and light for hourly shows with '60s hits from Canned Heat on the main stage at 9 p.m. tonight, and 3 Dog Night tomorrow night.
Just after 11 both nights, a "psychedelic" party featuring the Hippie Nation Bus starts rocking close to Main St.
