Are you in a post-Labor Day rut? Maybe you're sad to see summer go. Or maybe you'd like to meet new people or try something different. I’m a big advocate of shaking things up a bit when your social life has become stagnant. Expanding your horizon improves your outlook, helps sharpen your dating chops, and contributes to your overall well-being and happiness.
That said, here are some events happening in L.A. this week that you may want to check out – have fun!
Still hanging on to the last bit of summer? Join Singular Magazine this Thursday September 22nd from 7-10 pm as they say good-bye to summer and hello to fall at their “Last Day of Summer” party at The Roof on Wilshire at The Hotel Wilshire, a few blocks from LACMA and museum row. The venue boasts stunning views, cabanas, pool, fire pit, and specialty cocktails and appetizers for party-goers, along with some great raffle prizes like tickets to Cabaret. If you’re so inclined, The Hotel Wilshire is offering discount rooms, too. Feel free to make a night of it! Check their website to order tickets and for more details. Proceeds benefit the SPCA Los Angeles.
If you like your wine and food trucks, join Monopole Wine in Pasadena for their Mad Music Thursday celebration on September 22nd. There are three different venues within walking distance from each other offering live music: Monopole Wine Tasting Room, Zona Rosa, and Elements (from Spanish guitar to Latin to Jazz depending on your taste). Along with music, wine tasting is available and Ludo, Hungry Nomad, and Flatiron food trucks will be serving tasty offerings. Check their website for details.
If exercising is more your thing than parties or wine tasting, join Sierra Club singles for a hike in Malibu’s Solstice Canyon this Sunday September 25th. Make your way through a 4.5-mile hike with 800-foot elevation gain, enjoying sycamore trees and a babbling brook. Space is limited so be sure to sign up in advance. This is for newcomers, so new faces are welcome.
Enjoy!
