End of Nations, the upcoming F2P MMORTS (or more accurately, RTSMMO) is a fully persistent world that changes as players head to war with a variety of troops, machines, and implements of mass destruction. A Mad Max apocalypse on a grand scale, End of Nations brings more units and more players into the fray than most RTS titles would dare.
Players have access to a formidable array of options, allowing them to create highly customized loadouts to bring into battle.
Unlike many other RTS games, players start with a sizable strike force in End of Nations, and use it to take over key points of the map where they can gain resources and reinforce from.
This methodology facilitates a fast foray into the action phase of the game and forces conflict without devolving into a resource farm fest to top-tier tech units that can happen in other RTS.
The real shocker here is that maps can support up to 26 vs. 26 players – a recipe of destruction on a titanic scale when one considers just how many units that is, all firing projectiles and being hammered with hellfire.
End of Nations features two different factions that vie for control of the persistent world, The Liberation Front and the Shadow Revolution. Whichever team is in the lead will be rewarded with a variety of bonuses, possibly some form of in game currency (This hasn’t been fully determined yet).
Units are highly customizable down to the last drop, and additional/auxiliary units can be purchased at the cash shop and then decked out with skins, colors, and mods.
Players can level up and unlock potent new units and abilities as they move down traditional tech trees, but not to worry – the game won’t pit players against massively underleveled or overleveled opponents.
There’s a wealth of single player gameplay to be had as well, and your friends can come join you – even during the middle of a map, making carnage quite convenient.
