En Vogue is back—at The B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in Times Square for a Friday night show (Oct. 21). The Grammy nominated R&B female quartet rose to fame in the early 1990s with hits such as “Free Your Mind,” “Whatta Man,” “My Lovin (Never Gonna Get It)” and “Don’t Let Go (Love).” The group and its members, Cindy Herron, Terry Ellis, Maxine Jones, and Dawn Robinson have helped sell over 20 million albums and singles worldwide, and later this year are expected to release a 20th anniversary album.
The group will also embark on a tour of the U.S. and Europe that will be filmed for a documentary. En Vogue has won seven MTV Video Music Awards, four Soul Train Awards, six American Music Awards, and seven Grammy nominations.
Opening for En Vogue is Crystal Nicole, who recently launched her single “Pinch Me” with the help of industry heavyweight Barry Hankerson. She is credited with penning anthems, jingles, and number one singles for Mariah Carey, Natasha Bedingfield, Rihanna, Beyonce, Jermaine Dupri, and Jennifer Lopez to name a few.
Crystal Nicole attributes “Pinch Me” to her emergence as an artist. Before embarking on her own musical endeavors, Crystal Nicole won Songwriter of the Year award in 2010. Performances begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21. Tickets are $35 in advance, and $40 the day of the show. At The B.B. King Blues Club and Grill (247 W. 42nd St.) (212) 997-4144.
