  • Workshop 2: Understand the Key Elements to Writing a Resume

Date: Tuesday, January 21, 2014 Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

One of the most important and intimidating steps in the job search process is writing a solid resume that gets the attention you want and need. Today, resumes must appeal to potential employers while also being optimized for the electronic age. Whether you are handing a resume over in person or are emailing an electronic copy to be added to an online database, the words you use and the format you choose will make a big difference in whether or not you get that interview. This course teaches you not just what a resume should look like, but what it should say.

  • Workshop 3: Identifying Your Perfect Career: Career Assessments

Date: Monday, January 27, 2014 Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Career assessments can help you explore your interests, skills, values, and preferences as they relate to choosing a career. While no assessment can perfectly describe who you are or what your career is to be, they are valuable in helping you narrow your search and consider options you may not have previously considered. Join us at the Tennessee Department of Labor and take your customized career assessment and discover your next career.
