Most of the time being a job applicant means you have to try to sell yourself to a potential employer.

But on Tuesday, March 11, the roles will be reversed. At Career Showcase, employers will make presentations to those applying for jobs. It will take place at the Sheraton Suites, 555 NW 62nd Street in Fort Lauderdale. Employers that will attend include Enterprise Rent-A-Car, OMG Tech Help, Prudential and Wyndham. There will be more than 500 jobs open at this event, according to an article by Marcia Heroux Pounds in the March 9 Sun Sentinel.

There are more and more jobs available in Florida. The unemployment rate is lower than it has been in previous years and more and more people are returning to the job market. The nature of the job market has changed. In previous years, almost anyone could find a job. It might have been a low end job but it was a job. Now, the best jobs are going to those people with extensive skills and education. It pays to get training in high technology. Also, there is a strong demand for healthcare jobs, especially in the area of nursing. It remains to be seen how the current job market will play out. But there are jobs available.
