An employee was wounded and a suspect shot in the head in a shootout during an armed robbery Friday night at a Chinese restaurant in Fayetteville.
Police hours later were still searching for the wounded suspect and his accomplice.
Investigators said the two suspects entered the restaurant and held three workers at gunpoint.
“One of the employees produced a hand gun and shot the suspect, hitting him at least once in the head,” police spokesman Lt. Mike Whitlow said. “The second suspect then shot one of the employees.”
Both suspects fled and police believe they left in vehicle that they had parked nearby.
The wounded employee, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police have not released any details on the employee’s wound or condition.
They have contacted local hospitals and placed them on alert for the wounded suspect.
Anyone with information on the wounded suspect and his accomplice is asked to call Fayetteville police.
