Emperor's decree means an extra week of Star Wars Weekends at Disney World

The Rebel Alliance is putting up a fierce battle, but sometimes the Empire gets its way. That's the case with Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios this year, where a garbled transmission from Emperor Palpatine demanded that a fifth weekend be added in 2014. That means it runs all the way from mid-May through mid-June.

In the interests of keeping peace for the event between the warring factions, the dates are now as follows:

Weekend I: May 16 – 18, 2014
Weekend II: May 23 – 25, 2014
Weekend III: May 30 – June 1, 2014
Weekend IV: June 6 – 8, 2014
Weekend V: June 13 – 15, 2014

Crowd favorite James Arnold Taylor returns as the Star Wars Weekends host. He's well known for his voiceover work, including Obi-Wan Kenobi on "The Clone Wars." Better yet, there will be a fireworks display each night, coordinated to Star Wars music, and an brand-new evening experience.

To whet your appetite for the event, click the video at the top of this article to see Taylor's show, which he performs live during Star Wars Weekends. There are plenty of other celebrity appearances still to be announced.
