Emmys hit high notes with Billy Crystal tribute to Robin Williams & fine wines

It seems like the last Emmys were just yesterday. Alas a year has gone by and LA’s boffo awards show takes place in just two days on August 25 at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. The star studded event will include such notable presenters as Jane Lynch, Tony Hale, Amy Schumer, Allison Janney, Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum, Comedy Central’s Key & Peele, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, Morgan Freeman, Tony Goldwyn, Aisha Tyler, Joe Manganiello and Carrie Preston.

Expected to be a showstopper (and major tear jerker) of the show is a special, very heartfelt tribute to the late, great Robin Williams by his longtime friend and fellow super star Billy Crystal. Jon Voight will also do a moving posthumous presentation of the Academy’s prestigious Governors Award to casting icon, Marion Dougherty.

The presentation will have its grand finale at the posh Governors Ball with a special toast of Stellina di Notte Prosecco. This marks the first year that the sparkling Italian wine will be featured at the party along with an amazing 2011 BV Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2013Beaulieu Vineyard Maestro Collection Sauvignon Blanc that will complement award-winning chef, Joachim Splichal’s culinary menu.

“The 66th anniversary of the Emmys is a perfect occasion for a celebratory toast with our Stellina di Notte Prosecco,” said Marty Spate, senior winemaker. “We look forward to raising a glass to celebrate television’s biggest night.”
