Michael Douglas had an extreme amount of gratitude for winning at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night. The entertainer picked up some hardware for his interpretation of Liberace in the HBA film Behind the Candelabra. While the win seemed deserving, it might have been difficult as he was in direction competition with Matt Damon who was also nominated for the same category.
The Liberace movie centering on the last part of the entertainer's life and the portrayal of the artist had many thinking the star might win. This is Michael Douglas' fifth Emmy nomination, but first his first Emmy win. Offering up a perspective on how lucky he was to work with Matt Damon, the actor called the performance a two hand job. Using suggestive language that could mean more than one thing, the star was careful to compliment while Damon watched helplessly nearby.
The win was one of the final decisions of the 2013 Emmy Awards, it appeared the star will be celebrating tonight in Hollywood. Categorized as one of the saddest Emmys ever, there was a huge emphasis on the deaths in Hollywood over the past year.
