Emmylou Harris brings her Wrecking Ball Tour to D.C.

The legendary Emmylou Harris brings her Wrecking Ball Tour to Washington's Lincoln Theatre on Friday. It is a tour in support of the reissue 3-disc release of her Grammy Award winning 1995 release "Wrecking Ball." The album contains songs written by Julie Miller, Steve Earle, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and others. The band backing her features producer, songwriter, musician Daniel Lanois who produced the album and wrote songs for it. The drummer is Steven Nistor who has drummed for a Who's Who list of musicians including Robert Plant, Buddy Guy, Gnarls Barkley, Garth Hudson and Alison Krauss to name a few.Singer, songwriter, guitarist, bass player Jim Wilson rounds out the band.

In her career Emmylou Harris has won 13 Grammy Awards and three CMA AWards, She has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Simply put her long career spanning several musical genres has established her as a living musical legend. The Lincoln Theatre provides an intimate setting in Washington for fans to see Emmylou Harris live in concert.
