Emmy Winner Jai Rodriguez celebrates his birthday with 'Summer Shorts' cast

Sipping on orchid-bedecked "Dirty Little Secrets" cocktails in honor of Emmy award-winning actor Jai Rodriguez, the cast of City Theatre's "Summer Shorts" turned out in masse on Tuesday night in South Beach to celebrate their co-star's birthday.

The party for Rodriguez, who turns 32 this month, was hosted at the Mondrian Hotel by South Beach promoter Edison Farrow, who used as the backdrop "Martini Tuesdays," the popular gay-oriented cocktail party he hosts around town. Other cast members on hand included Stephen Trovillion, Finnerty Steeves, Gregg Weiner and Ceci Fernandez.

Best known for playing the "culture guy" on the hit Bravo series "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," Rodriguez is multitasking this season. He's featured in "Summer Shorts," and he is also performing his cabaret show, "Dirty Little Secrets."

Now in its 16th year, "Summer Shorts" offers a series of fast-moving playlets designed to offer the audience comedy, drama, and everything in-between, In contrast, "Dirty Little Secrets,' is a cabaret show in which Rodriguez reveals the poignant, yet ultimately empowering story of his life. It is a saga that takes him from confused high school student to become a confident gay man who also happens to be a terrific singer and dancer.
