Glamorous to good grief or just plain what the heck happened to you on the Emmy Awards 2014 are some of the reactions experienced when watching last night’s red carpet celebrity fashion runway.

However, for the most part celebrities showed off their fine celebrity fashion intelligence while some left us with real fashion question marks? Let’s review some of the highlights shall we?

Modern Red was a common color theme and it was a huge success. Celebrities who wore red that made out of the ballpark homerun fashion hits were actresses January Jones, Sibel Kekilli, best-dressed category in my opinion was Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Lisa Rinna and Claire Danes ‘Homeland’ star wore an on-trend racy red lace Givenchy gown with side cutouts and bejeweled collar.

Passionately pink and ever so vintage inspired 60s dress worn by actress Zooey Deschanel was very pretty and spot on perfect.

Fashion hit or miss, I don’t know what Kerry Washington was thinking about when selecting that tangerine orange with glue on glitter Prada column dress? ‘Scandal’ star Kerry was a perfect wonder in her vibrant pumpkin-colored whatever it was she wore, huh?

The white gown was another beautiful dress theme for the evening worn by actresses Joanne Froggatt, (Downton Abbey) a white sparkly princess gown worn by Anna Camp seemed to set the stage for more feminine, and flirty fashions, however some of us like me were left wondering why Sofia Vergara wore her boobs on a shelf. Sofia is known as the saucy 'Modern Family' star and for flaunting her curvy figure but her gown was not a fashion favorite.

TV personality Cat Deeley, actresses Lena Dunham, Michelle Dockery and Lizzy Caplan chose to wear two-tone dresses. Dunham looked particularly comical in her peacockery feather like ruffles, Dockery and Caplan looked ever so cool, crisp, and cutting edge chic, and modern, and Deeley floated in like she had been dancing all day.

Black and/or navy blue ball gowns were the classic elegant looks of actresses Lena Headey, and Kim Dickens, and actress Julia Roberts never looked better than in her bejeweled navy blue mini with peplum.

Fashion reporter Allison Carey for the wrote, “Other exciting looks that crossed the carpet included the short bubbly blue Elie Saab dress worn by Julia Roberts. Her legs looked amazing in mile-high heels. She hasn't aged a bit and it was a breath of fresh air to see her in something daring and fun. Let's try to forget that frumpy black strapless number with the white blouse shoved inside it from last year's Golden Globes. Her hair was tousled and her makeup was simple. It was one of my favorite looks of the night.”

Jewel toned gowns glowing in emerald green, sapphire blue and ruby red made noteworthy appearances and celebrity couples with stand out class-act looks were actresses and actors Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen, Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt, Timothy Simons and Anne Simons, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and her husband Mr. Sweeting.
