Emma Watson recently took to her twitter account to dismiss the rumor she had been cast as “Anastasia Steele” in the upcoming cinematic adaptation of E L James popular erotic ’50 Shades’ novels, stating:
“Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life.”
But that doesn’t mean the now 22-year-old is confining herself to sweet, “Hermione Granger” roles either. Au contraire!
In the upcoming Sofia Coppola-helmed ‘The Bling Ring’ – shot last spring in various locations in and around Los Angeles and chronicling real-life events – Watson is cast as “Nicki,” one of a group of teens who burglarized homes of wealthy celebrities like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox and Orlando Bloom in 2008.
All you have to do is watch Watson’s “sexy dancing” – featured in the first trailer released for 'The Bling Ring' – to realize she is now open to taking on more adult roles. Click through the slideshow at the top of this article for another image of Watson's sexy "Nicki" look.
Sofia Coppola also penned the screenplay for ‘The Bling Ring’ and reportedly based it on a Vanity Fair article penned by Nancy Jo Sales titled “The Suspects Wore Louboutins.”
The film’s ensemble cast includes Katy Chang, Israel Broussard, Taissa Farmiga, Claire Julien and Leslie Mann.
‘The Bling Ring’ is slated for limited release in U.S. theaters in June 2013, which is about a month after Alexis Neiers – the real-life inspiration for Watson’s “Nicki” character – is due to become a mother.
