Actress Emma Watson showcases her athletic, size-four physique in the February 2013 issue of Marie Claire UK.
"I’m a bit OCD about perfectionism," Watson told Marie Claire. "I'm my own worst critic. I think that’s really hard, but it also spurs me on. I always want to do better. I’m always striving towards the next thing."
At 22, Emma has learned to accept herself more and ignore unhelpful criticism — both the type that comes from outside sources as well as from herself.
"Now I feel a lot more settled in who I am and what I think and how I want to do things," says the "Harry Potter" beauty. "And because I feel good about what I'm doing, I don't need anyone else to say whether they think it's good or not. I think that comes with age, which is nice."
The self-acceptance also extends to health and fitness. The athletic 5-foot-5 Emma, who runs, does yoga, dances and plays tennis, once idealized the rail-thin physiques of fashion models before realizing it wasn't a realistic or healthy look for her.
"My weight has fluctuated between a [U.S. size four to eight]," said Watson. "I've accepted my body shape more as I've got older.
"I went through a stage of wanting to have that straight-up-and-down model look, but I have curves and hips, and in the end you have to accept yourself as you are."
