Actress Emma Watson is on the cover of Vanity Fair Italy, and during an interview she spoke on her feelings about the media interest in the cheating scandal that involved Kristen Stewart.
The Kristen Stewart cheating scandal became the talk of the country, and it was further aggravated when Robert Pattinson, Kristen's boyfriend and "Twilight" co-star, left the house they shared and made their separation public.
Many may have not thought of Watson as the type to stick up for female colleagues, however, Emma Watson defends Kristen Stewart in a recent interview, omg! Yahoo! reported on Feb. 8.
Both Watson and Stewart have become international stars that have played significant roles in major films, and the actress believes that the "Twilight" star suffered great harassment after it was unveiled that she cheated on Robert Pattinson with the married director of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” Rupert Sanders.
In the interview, Emma Watson defends Kristen Stewart by saying,
"Those who criticized her are the same people that think that being rich and famous is like being covered in some kind of magic powder that makes life perfect: Nothing can go wrong in your wonderful world,” Watson explained. “For these people, Kristen deserves all the bad things that have been thrown at her because she had an amazing life and she ruined it."
"I don't know how to explain it, but it sure isn't perfect. I thought that the media picked on her in a very horrible way. Kristen is human, just like everybody else, and she's so young. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone. It's not fair to consider them matters of public interest.”
“On one hand, I can understand why it happened: people felt really involved in her relationship with Robert Pattinson,” Watson explained. “But it's also true that they both have done everything in their power to keep their relationship as far from the public eye as possible."
