Emma Watson showed off her buff abs at the 2013 "GQ Men of the Year" awards at the Royal Opera House in London Sept. 3. The "Harry Potter" star was on hand to receive GQ's "Woman of the Year" award.
Watson, 23, wore a midriff-baring Balenciaga bra-cape that accentuated her slender waist. Not surprisingly, the athletic 5-foot-5 brunette beauty works out regularly, doing a combination of yoga, running, dancing and playing field hockey and tennis.
"I like to be active," Watson told Seventeen. "I don’t always have time for that stuff, but I do always feel better afterward.”
Despite being hailed for her wholesome good looks, Emma has admitted feeling insecure about her body in the weight-conscious film industry. "I don't have perfect teeth, I'm not stick-thin," she said. "I want to be the person who feels great in her body and can say that she loves it and doesn't want to change anything [but it's hard]."
Watson said the pressure to look perfect in Hollywood can be overwhelming and has played with her mind at times. "I do worry about the expectation to look a certain way," she confessed. "[L.A. is] quite scary with all those young people having plastic surgery."
The level-headed Watson, who once idealized the rail-thin figures of fashion models, has learned to embrace and accept her body after realizing that being a size zero was not a realistic or healthy look for her.
"I've accepted my body shape more as I've got older," she said. "I went through a stage of wanting to have that straight-up-and-down model look, but I have curves and hips, and in the end you have to accept yourself as you are."
