Emma Stone graces the cover of the February’s issue of "W" magazine donning a strapless bra and leather jacket pulled down around her arms. The photograph, released on Jan. 18, features the actress wearing minimal makeup and disheveled hair, a stretch from her typical well-styled look.
In an interview with the mag the star opens up about her upcoming film, “Gangster Squad.” Stone says about her character, “Grace is playing with fire—she’s constantly torn, caught in that classic conundrum between good and evil.”
The star dubbed "Hollywood's Reigning Golden Girl" discusses the under garments she wore in the 1940’s film about an aspiring actress who falls in love with a gangster. “It’s time-consuming to put on a bustier and a little corset every day.” Stone added, “But you’re immediately more poised than you would be in modern-day clothes. And it makes it easy to get into character.”
On doing drama versus comedy, “The Help” star says, “In real life, sometimes it’s uncomfortable for me not to go for the joke. I’ve been looking at that in myself lately.” The 24-year-old continued, “Often, joking for me is a way of diffusing the awkwardness of a situation, so it’s kind of exhilarating to be a part of projects where there’s nothing funny or lighthearted.”
The full W magazine interview is available on newsstands in February.
