Emma Roberts landed the lead role in the upcoming Fox television adaptation of the bestseller book "Delirium," MTV reported on Thursday, Feb. 7.
In a new report from MTV's Hollywood Crush, it's been confirmed, via Entertainment Weekly, that Emma will be starring in the pilot for the dystopian novel's TV adaptation. "Delirium" is set in a future dystopian alternate reality where people have to be cured of "love" because it is seen as a disease.
Emma will play the role of Lena Haloway, a young woman who is about to turn 18 and will soon undergo the love-curing procedure. But, just days before she's to get the cure, Lena falls in love with Alex, a boy who is against the cure, and who will change her life forever.
No word as to who will be cast as Alex, or as Lena's best friend, Hana, and so far it is not known when the pilot will air. However the proposed new television drama is gearing up for production, so the pilot should be showing up on your TV screens within the next year or so.
