Emington, Illinois- Sara McMeen shot and killed four then took her own life in Emington , Illinois on December 16, 2011. McMeen shot and killed all 3 of her children and live in boyfriend Daniel Warren, 30. Skyler Lemke 10 years and Ian Lemke 7 years old were McMeen’s children from a previous relationship and the youngest was the couple’s 10 month old daughter Maggie Warren.
The two oldest children had returned home less than an hour before the shooting started for Christmas break.
Annelise Fiedler saw McMeen shot and kill the youngest Maggie Warren, while the baby was lying on the ground in the backyard. One other child was found shot in the backyard also.
She turned the gun on herself after shooting and killing her boyfriend and three children The coroner reported that McMeen died from a gunshot to the neck. Gunshot residue was found on McMeen’s hand during the autopsy. A semi-automatic hand gun was believed to be the murder and suicide weapon.
Resident’s of Emington, Illinois were shocked by the murder/suicide. The town of Emington is a small town located in central Illinois 90 miles southwest of Chicago. Neighbors said that the children were seen riding their bikes in the neighborhood regularly. Funeral services are still being made at this time.
