Eminem’s new album will land in stores after Memorial Day, according to a report at Billboard.com Friday.
Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg revealed that Eminem is "far into the process" of recording his eighth studio album. “It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day,” Rosenberg said. “We’ve got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up.”
Rumors surrounding the rapper's next album began in October when Eminem's merchandise store started selling a snapback hat listing the years of "landmark Eminem solo albums," including this year, 2013.
Rosenberg also explained that Shady’s been working on the follow-up to 2010′s Recovery “for some time” now, and that Eminem has some performances coming up in Europe in August; perhaps the album will arrive before he jumps across the pond.
Details about the as-of-yet untitled opus began leaking Friday when British newspaper The Sun reported that Eminem would be sampling newcomer UK artist Jamie N Common for his first single.
The album will be Eminem’s first release since 2011’s “Hell: The Sequel” with Bad Meets Evil, his project with Royce da 5’9”.
Eminem’s last solo album, Recovery to date has sold over 5.8 million records.
Eminem also plans to release Yelawolf's sophomore album, which he recently began recording in Nashville, Tenn. The imprint intends to put out 50 Cent’s oft-delayed "Street King Immortal" in the first-half of 2013, but no date is set in stone.
