2013 was a great year for hip hop but before the year was over, Eminem was the talk of hip hop. He had the second biggest debut in 2013 with almost 800 thousand units sold. He only trailed Justin Timberlake.
At one point, Eminem had four songs in the top 20.The Beattles were the last artist to achieve this feat. Eminem was dominating not only hip hop, but music in general. The self proclaimed rap god wasn't just talk, he was backing it up with numbers.
Eminem's single with Rihanna “Monster” topped the Billboards Hot 100. This is Eminem's fifth time topping the Billboards Hot 100.
Eminem's 8th album “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” sold over 1.7 million units when 2013. The album will most likely go double platinum. Eminem is the most successful rapper and it looks like he hasn't lost his touch.
On top of his latest album topping the charts, his old albums also made an appearance in the Top 200 charts. “Recovery” sold 167,000 units in 2013. The Eminem Show sold 165,000 units and “Curtain Call” sold 145,000 units in 2013.
Eminem is the only person who can sell his old albums as if they came out yesterday. It isn't hard to fathom his old albums popularity because there is no other artist like Eminem and their never will be.
