Comic book fans who've read "The Death of Captain America" story line will know the name, Sharon Carter, as the character played a key role in the story that made headlines around the world.
However before that pivotal event, Sharon Carter or S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent #13 has played an important role in the star-spangled avenger's life for quite some time. The character first appeared in Tales of Suspense #75 back in 1966 and was created by Stan lee and Jack Kirby. Originally she started out as the younger sister of Cap's wartime love, Peggy Carter, but in more recent times, he back story has been changed and she's now Peggy's niece. The two characters crossed paths on numerous occasions, first starting out working in a professional manner and later the two became romantically involved.
Captain America 2" The Winter Soldier introduces us to the screen version of Sharon, played by Revenge star, Emily VanCamp. VanCamp, who just signed on to play Chris Evans new love interest on Friday. The film will pick up where The Avengers left off.
Other members of the cast include Sabastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Scarlett Johanson as The Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as The Falcon, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
The Film is expected to hit theaters, Apreil 2014.
