Emily’s Sock Monkey: A Great Find! Written by Emily Hough and Sherri Thornhill, illustrated by Justino Rocamora Sanchez is a rare gift.
Emily Hough, Sherri Thornhill, and Justino Rocamora Sanchez have joined creative forces to produce a book to share with your favorite child. Emily’s Sock Monkey is a delightful story about Emily -who with her Sock Monkey- goes on a journey of friendship, appreciation, laughter and “paying it forward.” The story opens with Emily finding and buying an old sock monkey at the Forney Antique Toy Shop. With her family’s help she cleans, repairs, names and loves her new sock monkey friend, Lexi.
Emily and Lexi’s adventure into friendship begins as they tell jokes, and ends as they create happiness for both baseball and dancing friends. With special thought given to what would make each happy.
Emily Hough is an eight year old writer from Forney, Texas. She has an autoimmune disease called Juvenile Dermatomyositis, for which there is no cure. Emily wrote this book as a way to say thank you to those who have supported her in her fight against JDM. It is also a way she is raising funds to donate to Texas Scottish Rite and other charities that have helped her.
Sherri Thornhill,is a retired police officer, journalist and freelance writer. Sherri used her love, happy dancing personality and humor to help Emily write her story.
Emily’s Sock Monkey: A Great Find! is a mind-enriching, entertaining, holiday gift. Lucky is the family that finds a copy tucked under their Christmas tree.
