Bachelorette star Emily Maynard began filming on her season of the reality dating show in mid-March. For the first time in the history of the series, the location is not California, but rather Emily's hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. Producers agreed to film parts of the season in Emily's hometown so she would not have to be away from her daughter Ricki while filming the show.
After two weeks of filming in Charlotte, Emily and the remaining cast visited tropical Bermuda to film several dates.
Emily received the final rose during Brad Womack's second season of The Bachelor, and the two carried out a long-distance engagement (he lived in Texas) for close to three months until the rocky relationship ended in June 2011. A fan favorite, Emily was chosen to star as the next Bachelorette and will choose from 25 eligible bachelors in hopes of finding an engagement ring at the end of her journey.
The Bachelorette starring Emily Maynard will premier on ABC on May 14, 2012 (8pm EST).
