When Emily is a no-show at the debut party for Daniel’s new magazine launch, he is quietly fuming. Victoria does her best to make sure Daniel notices Emily’s absence and the slight it implies. It is not lost on him. When Emily finally arrives, he quietly tells her he cannot marry her and leaves her standing alone.
Later, she discusses how she is losing control of Daniel with Nolan. Nolan tells her she needs to open herself up to Daniel to convince him she cares – something she is loath to do. Still she decides Nolan is right.
She shows Daniel a picture of her family and tells him a story about her dad comforting her during a thunderstorm. She explains that she has known great love in spite of what people think and it was taken away from her. As a result, she tends to push people away so that she won’t ever again feel the pain of losing someone she loves. Daniel is moved by her story and her tears. She says she wants nothing more than to walk that aisle and become his wife and he says that’s what he wants too.
