EMI announced today it will release a limited edition "John Lennon Singles Bag," a three disc set of 45 RPM vinyl singles by Lennon on April 17 in support of Record Store Day.

The set will contain three vinyl 45 RPM records with artwork. The three records are:

- Single 1: John Lennon “Mother” / Yoko Ono “Why”
- Single 2: John Lennon “Imagine” / John Lennon “It’s So Hard”
- Single 3: John Lennon “Watching the Wheels” / Yoko Ono “Yes, I’m Your Angel.” (Note: You can see the covers of the disc picture sleeves in the slideshow at the bottom of the page.)

In addition to the singles, the set, which will be housed in individually numbered Kraftpak envelopes with a string and button closure, will also contain a custom plastic adaptor hub, a 24” x 36” poster and three postcards.

A limited edition two-disc gatefold edition of the Sex Pistols' album "The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle" will also be released the same day. Both the Lennon and Sex Pistols sets will be sold exclusively by participating independent music retailers across the country.

Why does Yoko's stupid songs have to be in it? Why can't it just be Lennon? Why does she always have to leech her way in?

  • Fab4Bear 2 years ago

Because she is a talentless bi-otch.

  • Rita 2 years ago

Plus, very deceiving cover, isn't it? "John Lennon" in big print, then you buy it and only get 4 John songs out of the 6, and Yoko!!??

  • Terri 2 years ago

Those Yoko B sides are what were released on the original 45's...that's why. So she isn't leeching her way in.

  • Ivan 2 years ago

Terri is correct - these are replicas of the original 45s, artwork included. Of the 15 solo singles released during John's lifetime, 9 had Yoko B sides.

Sorry, guys - he wanted her to be on most of his records, thus there she belongs.

    Again something US-only...

How much will it cost? it will be 7" or 12" (in 12 sounds better )

Anyway, i'm from mexico, even if they sell it in amazon...
it's so hard to import LPs (in amazon you can just books or cds)

I already have it... but without sleeve
(and i guess this reedition should sound better )

very cool that this is being done, but... I really wish they had used alternate pics for sleeves. If you're going to go to all the trouble to do a new pressing...

I think it should have been all of Johns singles. And what is up with the Imagine sleeve. I do not remember that being out ever. I will get it but think it is a cash in. Where is Mind Games? I think that would have been a good thing to include. Oh well, at least the folks at Experience Hendrix is getting it right. VALLEYS OF NEPTUNE comes out next week. Do I see a smokey haze???

  • grape ape 2 years ago

Mind Games / Meat City should definitely have been included.
