Each week during the high school sports season the High School Sports Examiner and the Eastern Maine Sports Blog will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com.

When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination.

2014 spring season- Week 4- May 11th-May 17th

Male

Emery Dinsmore - Belfast- baseball- Pitched his second complete game one-hitter of the 2014 season in 8-1 victory over Morse. Through his five starts he has kept his ERA hovering near two. The sophomore also added two singles in the win over Morse. Dinsmore is the first student/athlete from Belfast high school to earn AOW.

Runner up

Zach Bouchard- Stearns- baseball- Had two doubles, three runs scored, two RBI, and pitched the complete game to earn the victory in 13-2 win over PCHS. Had two hits, including a double and two runs scored in 13-0 win over Schenck. Pitched five innings, had a double, and a RBI in 9-6 win over Searsport.

Other nominations

Jake Gauvin- Bucksport- baseball- Had three hits, including a double and two RBI in 7-2 win over Central.

Scott Wolley- Narraguagus- baseball- Pitched a complete game five hitter and struck out 12 in 3-2 victory over Woodland.

Christian Mowrer- Orono- baseball- Had five hits, five RBI, and four runs scored in 22-0 win over Sumner.

Seth Brown- Stearns- baseball- Went 4-4 with four RBI and three runs scored in 13-2 win over PCHS. Had two hits, including a double, two RBI, and two runs scored in 13-0 win over Schenck. Went 1-4 with an RBI single in 9-6 win over Searsport.
