The snow is really coming down in Wichita, Kansas, today. While most of us are snug in our warm homes, there are many families and individuals in need of emergency shelters and services. In 2012, The Wichita Eagle reported a drop in homelessness from 634 in 2011, to 550, but it's still a problem. Thankfully there are emergency shelters for Wichita families, as well as places to help provide food and clothing. Listed below are various places that provide assistance to Wichita families in need.

- Baptist Homeless Ministries -Provides help and support for the homeless.
- Carpenter Place -Provides help and shelter for girls in crisis age 6-24.
- Catholic Diocese of Wichita: St. Anthony Family Shelter -Provides shelter and assistance to homeless families. The Lord's Diner -Provides meals.
- Center of Hope -Provides assistance.
- Episcopal Social Services -Provides food and outreach services.
- Interfaith Ministries -Provides food, shelter, and other services.
- Miracle's Inc. -Provides shelter and counseling to those who suffer chemical dependency.
- Union Rescue Mission of Wichita -Provides food, shelter, case management, etc.
- StepStoneKS.org -Provides shelter and assistance to women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
- The United Methodist Open Door -Provides shelter, a meal, and various services to the homeless and those in need.
- Wichita Children's Home -Provides shelter, care, and support, for children in need.
