Embrace outdoor adventure with “Meet the Moment” and CLIF Bar

Being in the outdoors and partaking of all the adventure it offers presents many moments to remember and building unforgettable memories isn’t hard to do while exploring in the mountains, paddle boarding in the lake, paragliding amidst the blue skies or climbing that challenging route. CLIF Bar is challenging adventurers to embrace the elements while generating donations for non-profits with their ‘Meet the Moment’ initiative.

Like most people, you probably take quite a few pictures while on your epic adventure and post them all over Facebook, Instagram and any other popular social media site. While you’re getting ready to load up that picture, make sure you add the hashtag #MeetTheMoment and CLIF Bar will donate $1 (up to $100,000) to one of seven environmental non-profits each month (International Mountain Biking Association, American White Water, Leave No Trace, Surfrider Foundation, Access Fund, WinterWildlands Alliance and Protect Our Winters). You won’t only be helping with one of these non-profits, but you’ll also be inspiring people to explore the outdoors when they see your incredible pictures.

From now until December 2014, all 17 CLIF Bar flavors will feature one of 20 adventure challenges on-package (available nationwide) in order to spark ideas and help people Meet the Moment through their own version. Adventure challenges include: Get Your Feet Wet, Feel Gravity, Embrace the Elements, Paddle Out and many more. Athletes of Team CLIF Bar such as surfer Lakey Peterson, snowboarder Jeremy Jones and climber Alex Honnold will also be participating in the initiative by interpreting the on-package challenges in their own ways.

“I travel the world in search of my next great climb,” says climber Alex Honnold. “My idea of adventure might be very different from someone else’s, which is what’s cool about Meet the Moment. It gets you thinking and hopefully inspires you to try something new. It also supports a number of important causes which make the adventures that much more worthwhile.”

Grab your friends, venture out with your family, or just enjoy some peaceful outdoor time for yourself to meet your moment. Spread the word about the ‘Meet the Moment’ initiative and don’t forget your hashtag #MeetTheMoment when posting your photos. It’s an extremely simple way to help out these fantastic non-profits and get some quality playtime in the vast outdoor playground.
