Join thousands of event goers on April 16th to commemorate the abolition of slavery in the District of Columbia. Kicking off at festivites at 11 AM, Pennsylvania Ave, NW, will feature a parade full of floats, marching bands, and performances from various U.S. Armed Forces units.

The official 2014 celebration will also include a free live concert featuring hip hop music artists, Talib Kweli, MC Lyte, Arrested Development, Doug E Fresh, and DC natives Raheem DeVaugn, DJ Kool, and Black Alley Band, closing out the evening with a fireworks show and display.

This will be a Free All Day Event.
