A sweet, young Treeing Walker Coonhound is currently in need of rescue or adoption from a small animal control facility in Lewisport, Kentucky.
The two-year-old dog, named "Macey," is in poor condition...she is emaciated, weighing in at a mere 38 pounds, and she has an injury down her back which is either from chemical burns, or some type of allergic reaction.
Macey is being held at the Hancock County Animal Shelter - on Friday, the Facebook page, Saving Kentucky Shelter Animals, wrote the following information about the neglected dog:
Timid, but very sweet, loving girl. Does well with other dogs. Non-reactive to cats.
Late Friday morning, an inquiry to the county-run animal control about Macey's availability to adopters or rescue agencies was met with the following response:
She would be available to an approved rescue or adopter.
She has not had anyone interested as of yet.
This sweet-natured dog is in need of a helping hand - she needs to be rescued by someone who is able to address her veterinary needs and show her love and kindness.
