On this day, August 16, 1977, Elvis Aaron Presley was found dead at his Graceland home. He was 42. Now 32 years since, Elvis fans still pay their respects to the King of Rock 'n Roll as hundreds of thousands make their pilgrimage to Memphis… as the faithful have done every year.
Elvis Aron Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, January 8, 1935 to Gladys Love and Vernon Elvis Presley. His twin brother Jesse Garon Presley died at birth. When Elvis was eight, the family moved to Memphis to find work. It was in Memphis where the legend was to become the American Dream as dirty poor young man changed the course of music for his baby-boomer generation and future generations. As John Lennon said,
Before Elvis there was nothing…”
Elvis could have also been seen at one of his many concerts, in the movies, newspapers or magazines, and it must have felt normal, to most, to see or hear him on a daily basis. And if that wasn't enough Elvis quality time, one could also turn a radio dial, slap on a record, or even insert an 8-track or cassette tape to enjoy one's choice of Elvis music. (contact us for definition of a record, 8-track or cassette tape)
Elvis Presley will always be remembered as if we personally knew him. After all, we dressed like him, wore Tutti Fruiti lipstick and played his music in our bedrooms. We could see him on television, cried when he was enlisted into the army and sailed to Germany. Then rejoiced as he returned and we could see him on the big screen in a new movie every year.
It seems to most, if not all, that Elvis never left us. Not a day goes by when there isn't something that jogs our memory of him - not that our memories need such a jog. Why, at least one of our American presidents met him! We know it was Elvis who was the one honored in meeting the political leader, but it most likely was mutual on both sides.
Not everyone was able to live in the time of Elvis Presley, but when one travels through elvispresleynews.com, it will almost seem like you were there!

Thanks for the update on the song and video.
It doesn't look like Elvis in the picture!? Is it really him?
I'm quite sure the top photo is a representation of him, Elvis - someone "donated" the photo, but one of the real Elvis would have been better of course! Would replace it, but this article's format was changed so can't make any changes. thanks for noticing though.
