George Klein was Elvis' life long friend; he accepted the award when Elvis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This video was just released after twenty four years. George wrote the speech himself. I can tell you all day long of George Klein's accomplishments and his love for the radio and music business. But mere words can’t capture his devotion to his life long friend as well as this clip. You can see his compassion peak a couple of times as he talks about Elvis and his career.

Red West wrote a song Elvis recorded called “If Everyday Could Be like Christmas” on that note just let me say I wish everyone could have a friend as devoted as George Klein. He is inspiring. No matter what he does, he excels at it. What George said about Elvis also applies to him, men like George Klein aren’t made, they are born. You can teach anyone with a decent voice to be a disc jockey. You can’t teach professionalism, dedication, respect and compassion. George showed all those things not only to Elvis but to other artist as well on both the local and national scene. The King not only lives through his music, he lives through his friend George Klein. His music speaks for itself, GK speaks for the man.
