Elvis: Gone but not forgotten

We've been big fans of Elvis since his first records came out, back in our young, going-to-school days. From the earliest of his records to the last, we've enjoyed 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'Hound Dog', 'Love Me Tender' and all of the rest. We watched some of his movies, but, seriously, some of them were so 'cheesy', we just quit watching them after awhile. And we still tend to like the earlier songs better than the later ones.

With Col. Tom Parker, Elvis's manager living in the Nashville area, the sightings of Elvis were probable, but we never did see him going between the RCA studios downtown and Col. Tom's place in Madison which was close to where we lived at a time.

We found a video which is titled: 'Elvis Wrote a Letter to President Nixon Asking to Be an FBI Agent' that we are sharing with you today, the day before his birthday. We often wondered what he would have done if fame and fortune hadn't come his way, and perhaps, this would have made a great movie plot for Elvis Presley. He could have been an early 'James Bond' with a vengeance, righting the wrongs of the world, like Superman, Spiderman and the Green Lantern all rolled into one.

Leave us a note and let us know if you, too, loved Elvis, and will celebrate his birthday by listening to some of his music.
